Our story

For over 50 years, North Area Meals on Wheels (NAMOW) has provided nutritious meals to seniors, the homebound, and individuals with disabilities in northern Onondaga County. What started in 1972 with a few volunteers cooking at home to help their neighbors has grown into hundreds of people delivering thousands of made-from-scratch meals weekly.

We serve Cicero, North Syracuse, Liverpool, Mattydale, Brewerton, Clay, and beyond—offering affordable meal options for those in need. Operating from our Church Street building in North Syracuse, NAMOW relies on grants, donations, and fundraising to keep meals on the table for hundreds of clients.

Part of a bigger story

We are one local branch of a much larger national movement to address food insecurity. We are a proud affiliate of the nationwide organization, Meals on Wheels America.

Our food is so much better than what most people think — it’s restaurant-quality food.

It’s as much about the wheels as it is the meals. The connection that you get from these delivered meals is unique and hard to find elsewhere.
